At Moma Hilo, sustainability is guided by a set of principles that shape every step of our process. From fabric selection to ethical production, this page outlines the rules we follow to create responsible, lasting pieces.

Deadstock Only

We only use surplus fabrics that already exist, giving new life to materials that might otherwise go to waste.

Made In The UK

We produce everything in the UK, working closely with local makers and manufacturers who share our values around craftsmanship, ethical labour, and sustainability.

Designed To Adjust

Designed to fit across two UK sizes, our garments incorporate adjustable details and, in select styles, relaxed silhouettes to ensure a comfortable, enduring fit that evolves with you.

Minimal Waste

We produce in small quantities and made-to-order to avoid overproduction and keep waste to a minimum. We also use any inevitable waste from production in smaller projects and for our labelling.

Slow Fashion Mindset

Designed to be treasured, we create pieces that are built to last. Favouring timeless design and quality over trends, or mass production.

We believe good things take time, and our pieces are worth waiting for.

Supply Chain Transparency

At Moma Hilo, we believe in full transparency. We take you on a journey of how your pieces are made - showing the hands that made them and the fabrics we use. So you can make truly informed, confident purchase decisions.

Made For Women, By Women

We are a female-owned brand and partner with female-owned businesses across our supply chain.

Community & Education

We’re proud to hold a Fashion Residency at Big Creative Academy, where we run workshops, lead projects, and offer work experience - alongside this, Penelope is available for guest lectures on sustainable fashion and responsible brand-building.
